State to Assist Petroleum Marketers in Disaster Preparedness:
Request for Proposals Released April 1 Responses Due May 15
Madison, WI—April 1, 2015—Two state agencies today announced an initiative to ensure petroleum supplies are available in the event of severe natural disasters. The Wisconsin Emergency Management Division and the Department of Administration will provide assistance to petroleum marketers and municipal and county fleet operations in small wiring projects that enable the facility to accept a generator in an emergency.

New Natural Gas Pipeline to Serve Customers Along Route Extending from New Lisbon to Oakdale
Residents and business owners in Oakdale will soon have access to safe and reliable natural gas service. Alliant Energy will begin installing the natural gas pipeline between New Lisbon and Oakdale the week of March 16. The project will include installation of approximately 15 miles of an eight-inch steel natural gas pipe starting in New Lisbon. The pipeline will route through Camp Douglas and end at the intersection of Horizon Avenue and CTH N southwest of Oakdale. Approximately 35 to 45 workers will be on site and Alliant Energy expects the project to be completed by the end of August 2015.
Weekly project updates will be available by calling 608-372-0320. Anyone interested in receiving natural gas service along the route after construction is completed should call the natural gas conversion hotline at 1-888-255-4254 for more information.

Vernon Electric Cooperative Brings Community Solar to Western Wisconsin
The members of Vernon Electric Cooperative (VEC) are reaping the benefit of solar power, without having to purchase, install or maintain solar panels on their roofs through Wisconsin’s first fully energized community solar farm.
Located just outside the administrative offices of VEC, the 1,001 panel installation, with a 305 KW capacity, sparkles in the sunlight amidst green grass, blue skies and yellow dandelions. Nearby over the next hill, is another solar installation–this one with a 517 KW capacity—installed by Dairyland Power Cooperative (DPC), the generation utility for many of Wisconsin’s electric cooperatives.Read more here ...
